A rarely available opportunity has arisen to join one of Scotland’s leading PLC’s in a supporting role to the Group Tax Manager. This is a newly created position in a business which has grown through international acquisition and offers a talented and ambitious tax professional a broad range of interesting technical work.

Key responsibilities:

• Corporate tax advisory and compliance with involvement in VAT, employment taxes and stamp taxes matters
• Advising the Group on the UK and overseas tax aspects of acquisitions, new start-ups, disposals, group restructurings etc. and generally providing strategic tax advice
• Management of the third party tax compliance provider to ensure an accurate and efficient tax compliance process in both the UK and overseas jurisdictions
• Work alongside advisors on the corporate and deferred tax provisions for the group accounts on an annual basis
• Preparation of group tax forecasts on a regular basis
• Assisting with transfer pricing queries and escalation as appropriate
• Ensuring compliance with Senior Accounting Officer legislation

Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

We are looking for a qualified (CA/ACCA/CTA) corporate tax manager with previous experience working with large multi-national groups either gained in practice or an existing in-house team. You will have excellent tax accounting and advisory skills backed up by a pro-active approach to tax planning. Excellent communication and business partnering skills are essential.
