At Grant Thornton we're driven by a purpose of shaping a vibrant economy, based on trust and integrity in markets, dynamic businesses, and communities where businesses and people thrive. By living our purpose and focusing on quality, we strive to be the go-to-firm for growth. We’ve created our own unique culture – one that offers the opportunities of a major organisation in a personal, close-knit environment and that's built around a Challenger Leadership style and a Shared Enterprise model.

The Thames Valley Direct Tax team is led by two partners and one director and comprises more than 40 people. We deliver tax expertise and strategic business advice to clients of all sizes (including both large corporates and small and medium-sized businesses). In everything we do our aim is to deliver tailored, proactive and value add service to our clients and we want to develop and grow our advisory offering even further.
Job Description:

Our dynamic team is seeking a manager to join us on our journey:

You will lead client relationships and, together with the senior team, deliver solutions on stand alone advisory projects. You will also facilitate a smooth compliance process for key clients, with the associated ad hoc advice
You will be an integral part of the Thames Valley team but will build your wider network by working with other specialists across Grant Thornton
Business development is fundamental to our success and you’ll be involved in growing the business whether that’s through identifying opportunities on existing clients by developing the client relationship or winning new work
Great relationships built on trust underpin our work. In addition to lots of client interaction you will also be a role model for junior members of the team, supporting and championing their development and being involved in our coaching and upskilling efforts

Who we're looking for:

You'll have a genuine interest in our clients. We want to provide a distinctive service and unlock potential for growth in dynamic organisations.

You'll know that what you do matters. As an organisation we want to be known for how we do business, not simply what we do. So, we need people who know that every act matters from the simple things to the insights we bring to clients.

You'll seize opportunities. We want to adapt quickly and wisely to changing conditions to optimise growth for both our clients and ourselves.

You'll apply critical reasoning to bring clarity and insight. We do it by asking great questions, listening and drawing on our collective knowledge and experience to really help others grow.

Education, experience and qualifications:

you'll be technically strong and will have existing advisory experience which you are keen to further develop
you'll be ACA or CTA qualified with post qualification experience
