Senior Tax Analyst (VAT End to End Testing), Vertex, can be based in Netherlands, Belgium, UK, Germany or Ireland

Position Description

Vertex is looking for a VAT Technical Analyst that will be providing testing expertise for the VAT software End to End testing process. Main responsibilities include but are not limited to the creation/verification/maintenance of test cases. The individual will work closely with the Tax engine (O Series) Research Analysts and with the Vertex Global Indirect Tax returns group as well. The candidate will reside in any of the existing locations in Europe (Netherlands, Belgium, UK, Germany or Ireland) and will work closely with the Tax Research and Product Development teams to implement monthly updates to tax rates, rules, and tax forms in the Vertex® Indirect Tax Returns product.

In this role, you will assume responsibility for:

- Interpret the various changes to the tax engine and the Vertex® Indirect Tax Returns product
- Design and execute test scenarios in the product to ensure accuracy and functionality for the VAT products
- Work closely with the testing department in validating and reviewing the test scenarios
- Validate and test e-filing functionality in the Vertex® Indirect Tax Returns product

Qualifications

We encourage individuals possessing all of the following minimum qualifications to apply immediately:

Education & Training:

- Bachelor’s or Masters Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Math or related discipline, OR equivalent work experience is required
- 4+ years of VAT experience, in practice or industry
- Demonstrated VAT knowledge - Understanding of VAT information and the ability to formulate interpretations and determine how they apply to Vertex products is desirable
- Strong aptitude for detail - Exceptional analytical and logical problem solving skills
- Comfortable learning customized software applications
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines
- Must have excellent communication skills; verbal, written and interpersonal communication
- Must be able to work in a dynamic, team-based environment and be able to adapt to changing and multiple priorities
