Job Description:

Clients look to our tax advisers to not only to save money, but also to ensure they are operating within the law. Working in the tax team, it's about interpreting complex legislation and delivering solutions in a way that the client understands. Tax is a cost to their business and we, at Grant Thornton, are here to operate efficiently, to manage that. When you start, you will start off reinforcing the basics; carrying out technical research, preparing reports, advising clients on their tax requirements and negotiating with HM Revenue and Customs. As you gain more experience, you will then be able to move into advising on more complex issues and leading client relationships. Alongside this, you'll be working towards the CTA, ATT or ACA qualification.

you’ll build and maintain strong relationships with both colleagues and clients
you’ll develop a strong understanding of the full range of the firm’s services in order to maximise business opportunities
you’ll be technically strong with a UK VAT background, encompassing advisory work
you’ll have a genuine interest in business and be able to recognise the potential for selling into clients and maximising business opportunities
you’ll build strong relationships with your clients and have a clear understanding of client expectations and achieving high levels of client service
you’ll produce high-quality and professional tax reports which are accessible to the client

Education, experience and qualifications:

you'll be technically strong and have VAT advisory experience
you'll join a team of approximately 10 people across the region, primarily focussing on the East Anglian client base.
you'll work with some really exciting clients across a variety of sectors preparing reports and responses to client’s questions for Manager review
you'll be client facing, with support, from the first day and over time will progress to be point of contact for clients and leading meetings
you’ll have worked in the UK and have a good understanding of UK VAT legislation
You'll have real responsibility from the outset – we're now a shared enterprise, sharing ideas, responsibility and reward
you’ll be professionally qualified (ACA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent)
