UK Tax Assistant (VAT), Newcastle

Unique opportunity in new in-house tax team of blue chip fast-paced company.

Your new role
As UK Tax Accountant, you will be the go -to person for the UK business. This is a newly created position due to the promotion of the current post-holder into a global role and will report into Group Tax Managers based elsewhere in the UK. You will be responsible for the provision of VAT advice, the preparation and submission of VAT returns and Intrastat declarations. You will also be the primary point of contact with finance teams for employment tax queries.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed, you will be a minimum of AAT/ATT qualified. You'll need to have the acumen to conduct technical research and review developments in tax and employment law and recommend and develop VAT and employment taxes policy. You will need strong interpersonal skills with the ability to create effective relationships with stakeholders. You will be proactive with good organisational skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
You will have the confidence to back your decisions and seek pragmatic solutions in a fast paced environment.
