JOB DESCRIPTION
The Tax Specialist will:
Prepare and review State and Local apportionment schedules, including an annual review of the rules for each applicable jurisdiction
Coordinate compliance and correspondence with tax authorities
Collect data and organize documents for various tax examinations
Research federal, state and international tax issues, and compose memoranda summarizing the findings
Maintain tax log/calendar for all entities
Prepare and review various tax elections and periodic estimated tax schedules
Prepare and review internal procedure / process guides
Coordinate with foreign offices on various tax issues
REQUIRED SKILLS
15+ years of experience working within a Public / Private Hedge Fund or a Broker-Dealer
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance
CPA or parts passed
Solid Tax (Compliance) background
Microsoft Excel proficient
Solid analytical, mathematical, and research skills
Great interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong attention to detail
Highly organized
