Group VAT Manager - option for Part-Time, London

Stand alone VAT position with a global financial services group, open to part-time applicants.

Our client is a multinational financial services firm with operations in global major financial hubs, including US, EMEA and APAC. Due to a recent corporate restructure the firms is seeking a a new stand-alone Manager to operate in a full function VAT role. Reporting directly to the Head of Tax, there will also be opportunity for this individual to get involved in other tax areas such as Employment Tax. They are also open to candidates on both a full time or 4 days-a-week basis. Prior experience working in a partially exempt industry sector is helpful, but not essential.

The role

* Advise business operations on day-to-day Indirect Tax issues, ensuring tax risk is managed appropriately for all transactions.
* Maintain a positive working relationship with local tax authorities, including negotiation of partial exemption special method.
* Manage the full compliance process across multiple jurisdictions, including some production, review ad submission of UK and international VAT returns.
* Identify and implement Indirect tax process/system improvements where possible.
* Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders across the firm's operations, including finance and business functions.
* Provide ad hoc support to other tax team members where required.

About you

In order to succeed in this challenging role, it is expected that you will have:

* Professional qualification, i.e. CTA/ACA etc, is beneficial but not essential.
* Prior experience in a regional or global role is beneficial.
