Join one of the premier private client tax teams in London and make a genuine difference to your career….what would that mean for you?

Top class mentors

Having an experienced and supportive mentor is essential in any position. A great mentor will allow you to accelerate your career and significantly increase your knowledge.

You will need a great mentor for this to work of course.

The partners at this firm are technically excellent, as are the senior managers and directors. The senior staff will not just ensure you improve your technical knowledge, but will also invest in developing you as an all-round tax professional.

Fast growing firm:

The number one way for a professional to achieve rapid promotion is to work for a fast growing firm. In other words you need to be in the right firm. Fast growing firms offer you more scope to stand out and greater opportunities for promotion.

This practice is seeing double digit growth and has the investment to grow even further by developing its team by strategically hiring professionals with the potential to progress.

Deep technical knowledge:

You will be working with a qualified and experienced team (as well as up and coming juniors) that have a deep knowledge of their clients and the private client tax world. There is a high density of private tax partners and directors, all of who are extremely approachable. Staff come from the Big 4 and niche independent firms - the unifying factor is the quality of the people.

Some of the best clients anywhere on the planet:

The client base consists of high quality, complex private clients with UK and international tax issues. Clients are HNWI’s and UHNWI’s.

The firm and team:

This is not a Top 6 firm, however the type of clients, work and salary packages are comparable to the bigger practices. The differences come in the culture, the level of autonomy and the options to progress. The staff that we speak to (and have placed in this team) frequently site the ‘unique’ culture of the practice and the high level of responsibility that they have compared to larger firms.

The partners pride themselves in their commitment to investing in new ideas, new talent and new approaches. The senior partners have a process in place that allows employees to discuss ideas and contribute with suggestions on anything and everything. Staff feel involved in their environment and are happier, more productive and stick around longer.

The private client tax team is a highly valued part of the business and the firm is best described as a tax driven practice. This is not a “traditional accountancy firm”, but a modern business. Private client tax professionals are not second class citizens, but a vital part of the firm’s success.

The role:

The role will involve you taking responsibility for the management of a portfolio of HNWI’s. You will deal with the tax advisory work and the review of compliance cases. The partners want you to develop your technical skills by increasing the planning work you do, in addition to working on your softer client skills. They will look to improve your technical skills by working on projects with senior staff. You will also work on proposals for clients and act as a mentor to more junior staff, which will allow you to gain the necessary experience for you to move into a managerial position.
Prospects:

The tax partner that leads the team wants someone with the ambition and desire to advance. The firm can you give examples of staff that have joined and been promoted from supervisor to senior manager in 3-4 years. You will not need to sell your soul and work endless hours to achieve promotion at this team. The tax partner recognises ability and not hours served. If you are good at your job you could make manager in 12-24 months.

Some of the benefits on offer include;

Excellent holiday entitlement  that increases with service
Ability to buy and sell up to five additional days
Private medical insurance
Life assurance
Income protection
Pension scheme
Attractive discretionary bonus scheme
