Internal Auditor in Bedford

We are looking for a dynamic internal auditor that wants to join a large diverse organisation at an exciting period of growth. The Internal Auditor will have responsibility to make this role their own as there are a number of projects to be involved in. . You will also have exposure to a number of senior stakeholders across the business providing ample opportunity to impress and progress your career within the business.

The key responsibilities of the Internal Auditor are to:
-Detecting risks
-Highlighting control failures
-Identify value creation opportunities
-Understanding key issues/challenges
-Identify solutions and ensure they are fully implemented
-Assess, evaluate and promote compliance to internal policies and regulatory and legal requirements
-To undertake independent investigations in relation to frauds or irregularities
-To provide practical and independent advice on risk mitigation and best practice
-To liaise with directors, senior management, operational staff, and external auditors
-To communicate concise, logical and deliverable information, verbally and / or written
-Contributing, as appropriate, in the year-end financial audit with the external auditor

The successful Internal Auditor will have:
-Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
-Sound financial and regulatory awareness combined with excellent commercial and analytical skills
-Experience in a similar assurance based role
-Knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS102), and international accounting standards (IFRS)
-Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others and manage diverse relationships
-Excellent written and oral communication skills with a range of external and internal stakeholders
-Strong proven leadership and people management skills
-Strong analytic skills and ability to think strategically using financial analysis
-Be open to travel in the UK
