Your new role

The objective of the role is to support the Head of Tax in managing the global direct and indirect tax obligations of the group, providing an effective in-house tax advisory and compliance function. You will gain significant exposure to international tax matters and will have the opportunity to drive improvements in the group's tax processes. Given the rapid expansion of the business, changing tax landscape and small team size, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of tasks and will develop a broad skill set. You will work closely with Finance, Legal, Logistics, and the group's external advisors in fulfilling this role.

Key areas of responsibility:

* Work closely with the Head of Tax and external advisors to ensure the group meets all direct and indirect tax compliance obligations, including the preparation / review of direct and indirect tax returns across EMEA;

* Manage tax authority enquiries and audits with the Head of Tax;

* Preparation of current and deferred tax accounting entries and related disclosures under IFRS;

* Preparation/maintenance of global transfer pricing documentation, calculating transfer pricing recharges and responding to business queries regarding TP flows;

* Support Head of Tax in monitoring and advising on the impact of legislative changes, and responding to queries from the business;

* Contribute to other tax areas when required, including supporting R&D claims, WWDC calculations, CFC analysis, miscellaneous employee tax related filings, and assisting on ad hoc tax projects;

* Help to ensure business policies and processes keep pace with changes in operations and legislation from a direct and indirect tax perspective;

What you'll need to succeed

* Fully qualified (ACA / CA / ATT / CTA);
* Experience of tax reporting under IFRS and/or UK GAAP (US GAAP experience an advantage but not essential); Exposure to international tax, VAT and employment taxes an advantage but not essential;
* Attention to detail, logical and reasoned approach to problem solving with a can-do attitude;
* Applicants must have a high degree of computer literacy, with strong Excel spread sheet skills.
