Mixed Senior Tax Manager - Braintree

AJ Chambers are currently working with a mid-tier firm based in Braintree who are looking for a Mixed Senior Tax Manager. They offer a friendly, flexible working environment with an enviable benefits package.

The Role

You will join the firm in an advisory focused role, working closely with Partners and other Managers to deliver a high quality service to a mixed portfolio.

Typical advisory work undertaken will include;

● Corporate finance work including company reorganisations
● Wealth planning
● Inheritance Tax planning
● Trusts and Estates
● Residence and domicile issues including those coming to or leaving the UK

You will also have responsibility for recurring compliance work for a client portfolio, including OMBs, individuals with inherited family wealth and company directors.

Your responsibilities will include;

● Managing a portfolio of clients and acting as a main point of contact for the client
● Maximising advisory opportunities from the client portfolio, dealing with ad hoc advisory issues as they arise with collaboration with colleagues as required
● Preparing tax advisory letters and reports and reviewing drafts prepared by junior staff
● Helping develop the business and seeking new opportunities both within the firm and externally through networking
● Overseeing the annual compliance cycle on your portfolio.
● Providing support to the compliance team by assisting with more complex areas of personal tax returns, correspondence and advice drafted by our tax compliance team;
● Maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge of personal, trust and business tax matters.
● Providing advice for business clients in terms of complex VAT issues that arise

The Candidate

● CTA qualified. STEP qualified desirable
● Experience working at a managerial level within a reputable accountancy practice with both corporate and private clients.
