An opportunity has a risen for an enthusiastic individual who is looking to develop a career in accountancy. You will be working for a firm of corporate service providers and you must possess an excellent work ethic and desire to succeed. The successful applicant will be either studying towards their AAT qualification or looking to commence their studies.

Job purpose

To operate and maintain the group’s multi-client companies, offering clients the use of already established entities across multiple jurisdictions. Provide specialist VAT advice on an ad-hoc basis. Oversee a small group of private fiduciary clients.

Main duties


● Accounts preparation and incomplete records;
● VAT and Tax computations;
● Bookkeeping/invoice processing;
● Maintaining the activities of the in-house companies;
● Creating and updating financial summaries to keep track of debtors/creditors, payment dates and fees;
● Analyse proposals and provide structural advice and guidance to clients looking to use an MCC;
● Frequent liaising with banks to resolve potential compliance issues and queries;
● To prepare and file VAT returns, EC Sales Lists and Intrastat declarations – adhering to strict deadlines and ensuring that any necessary payments are made;
● Assist the accounts team with any queries they may have in order for each MCC’s financial statements and tax computations to be prepared and filed;
● Manage and keep track of client and group funds in order to ensure sufficient reserves are maintained for upcoming expenses and tax payments (i.e. budgeting);
● Preparing bespoke reports and memos when instructed by directors.

Education and Experience


● Possess or be working towards an AAT certificate or related accountancy qualification;
● Possess an Accounts related studies at degree level;
● Possess a minimum of five GCSEs (grade C or above) with two of the five to include Mathematics and English Language and two ‘A’ levels or equivalent qualification;
● Knowledge of accepted accounting practices and principles;
● Knowledge of auditing practices and principles;
● Knowledge of applicable laws, codes and regulations;
● Knowledge and experience of related computer applications;
● Usually a minimum of 1 years’ experience in the management of financial systems and budgets, financial reporting, financial data analysis, auditing, taxation and providing financial advice.

The ideal accounts administrator will have previous experience in a similar role and ideally hold or be of studying a relevant finance qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or AAT.

In addition, the applicant should have experience of spreadsheets, database and word processing packages, Analytical skills and a Logical approach to work.
