Simpson Booth are representing a leading professional services firm in Aberdeen, United Kingdom that is looking for a Senior Manager to join their audit practice. The role will be supporting a client base comprising a range of larger UK and international businesses as well as growing entrepreneurial companies.

Within the role the successful candidate will be supporting the business build their distinctive combination of specialist skills, pioneering technology, industry expertise and on-going investment to grow the business and continue to improve the market-defining services being offered.

Responsibilities

Within the role as Senior Manager the candidate will be responsible for:

Managing key audit relationships within a varied sector environment including oil and gas, manufacturing, logistics and engineering
Identifying and developing both audit and advisory opportunities with new and existing clients
Ensuring that stakeholder relationships, both internal and externally are managed to the required standards.
Developing staff and playing an important role in the appraisal and staff development process of the firm
Having a broader perspective of potential issues encountered when managing diverse teams and the strategies to overcome them; having a clear understanding of the firm’s commitment to creating a more inclusive culture

Skills and Qualifications

To qualify for the role you must have:

ACA/CA qualification (or equivalent) with extensive oil and gas audit experience a prerequisite.
Good knowledge and experience of regulation, compliance and operating practices for the oil and gas, engineering, manufacturing and logistics sector.
Thorough knowledge of UK GAAP / IFRS.
Proven track record in the understanding and interpretation of regulation within the industry and the implementation of solutions to address regulatory requirements.
A proven track record of establishing and maintaining strong relationships with clients.
Strong understanding of financial reporting and controls.
Additional desirable experience includes:

Ability to identify sales opportunities and lead the business development process.
The ability to work under own initiative and in many different and challenging environments.
Industry or international experience beneficial but not essential
Strong leadership skills.
Exceptional presentation, business writing and professional standards.
Please note this position is based in Aberdeen, United Kingdom. Our client is willing to consider candidates from Hungary as well as greater Europe for this role.
