National Head of Tax (Technical), to £175k

Global accountancy & advisory firm is looking to recruit a Head of National Tax for their London HQ. This UK top 10 accountancy practice has gained significant market share in recent years following entrepreneurial leadership.

The national tax department is critical to the continuous strategic growth of the firm. Essentially, the business division is responsible for promoting the firm via media, building relations with external bodies (e.g. ICAEW, HMRC), managing risk & providing services to tax staff.

Head of National Tax - Role Accountabilities:

* Leadership of the National Tax Department
* Report to Head of Private Clients, Tax & Business Services
* Weekly presentations to Tax Partners
* Public Relations - build relationships with the press, present on national TV
* Business partner with Marketing
* Promote the firm through social media
* Ensure a positive relationship with HMRC
* Develop systems to minimise risk
* Business partner with IT on tax technology systems
* Periodic visits to regional tax offices
* Chair business tax committee meetings

This is a highly prestigious leadership role, requiring a tax professional who can demonstrate significant gravitas & energy. To be considered, applicants must have gained experience in a professional services environment and/or professional body (e.g. CIOT, ICAEW).

Previous experience of dealing with the media will be a distinct advantage as you will regularly be in contact with journalists.
