FS - Assistant Tax Manager, Leading Global Asset Management Firm

This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA/CTA Qualified Assistant Manager to join a leading Global Asset Management firm; with offices covering London, New York, Hong Kong & Sydney. This candidate will ideally come from a mid-tier firm, looking to make their first move into a strong in-house team.

This role is ideal for an individual who has strong experience within a mixed tax environment, covering indirect and direct tax. Previous experience within Financial Services is advantageous, but not essential. The candidate must simply be passionate about learning the Asset Management market.

The below gives a detailed insight into the type of work, compliance and advisory, that you will be involved in and learning whilst on the job:

* Ensuring continued compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements
* Working closely with all business units and responding to ad hoc queries on a range of matters including VAT, CT or PAYE
* Reviewing fund documentation
* Providing advice to front and middle office on a range of matters e.g. corporate actions, withholding tax, capital gains tax, reclaims and stamp duty
* Being aware of any changes in tax regimes globally, actively communicating these, and advising on how the changes may impact certain transactions
* Advising on suitable structures, reviewing documentation and advising on tax implications of the proposed investments for fund incorporation and liquidations

In this firm, the indirect and direct tax compliance work is outsourced, meaning that the successful candidate will be involved in reviewing this compliance work to ensure strong risk management within a well established tax team. Candidates coming from the mid-tier firms will be able to utilise their strong compliance skills along with upgraded work on the advisory side.
