Tax Reporting & Compliance Accountant, Health Care Provider, London

Based in central London, this hugely successful health care provider has operations across the globe and has a true international presence. They have a current need for a Tax Reporting and Compliance Accountant. The Tax Reporting and Compliance Accountant reports to the Global Tax Reporting and Compliance Manager (GM) and assists with managing the global tax reporting requirements.

Key duties

* Working with the GM to deliver the end to end process of the provision of the group's consolidated reporting numbers, forecasts and external disclosures as well as wider disclosures and management of the tax transparency approach within the Group. This includes the review and consolidation of the MU submissions and adherence to strict reporting deadlines
* Working with Capital Management and the Global Financial Reporting Team for the preparation and review of the SII tax processes (EBS & LADT) including coordinating information flows from the MU's
* Managing the reporting of tax numbers to HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC), confirming the UK group's tax position by preparing the UK loss relief schedules and calculating the quarterly payments on account

Year End Accounts

* Assist the GM in the end to end production of the year end consolidated tax charge as well as associated disclosures in the Financial Accounts
* Preparing the analytical review of the group's tax charge for both current and prior years and comparison with forecasts including supporting the preparation of Management Information for relevant stakeholders
* Drive efficiencies in the process and technology improvements including bringing innovative ideas to transform existing processes with a view to continuous improvement and best practice

Forecasting and budgeting

* Prepare the consolidated tax charge for each forecast/plan for review by the GM
* Monthly Tax Charge
* Manage the calculation of the monthly tax charge for the UK group of companies using the ARTT model
* Review the monthly overseas tax charges calculated by overseas companies
* Combine the above with tax on the consolidation adjustments to arrive at a group tax charge

Solvency II

* Assist with the calculation of the SII numbers, automating as much of the processes as possible to make the process more efficient
* Assist with the preparation and review of all SII tax processes (EBS & LADT) including coordinating information flows from all of the MU's

Tax Compliance

* Assist with the overall submissions of UK tax returns to HMRC including group relief submission subject to final review and sign off by the GM
* Assist with ensuring appropriate notifications are made to HMRC in respect of acquisition and disposal of Companies including submissions of returns outside the existing process
* Ensure ongoing company compliance with corporation tax rules and implement new procedures as required
* Assist with the submission of other filing requirements to HMRC (eg Country by Country Reporting, Transfer Pricing Master file etc)

Tax Payments

* Calculate the UK group's quarterly payments. This includes drafting the necessary paperwork for processing by Treasury
* Assist with ensuring taxes due for Companies outside the group payment arrangement and paid accurately and on time (eg for acquired/disposed Companies

Skills

Knowledge of UK tax and UK IFRS financial reporting.
