A Global Pharmaceuticals business based in London are looking to hire a Tax Manager to work closely with the Head of Tax and Tax Director with the day to day running of the group's tax affairs. The role requires an individual with strong international tax experience and good accounting expertise.

Responsibilities include:

Compliance and Reporting

* Ensure that the tax reporting obligations of the Group are met, including preparation of the monthly IFRS tax charge, quarterly US GAAP reporting packs and annual consolidated IFRS charge
* Become the day to day contact point for our compliance outsource providers to support them in their work on preparing tax disclosures and computations, including initial review of their output
* Responsibility for preparing the group's Patent Box calculation and ensuring that any Patent Box deductions are maximised
* Assist the Head of Tax and Tax Director on any overseas tax issues or opportunities that may arise in major jurisdictions (such as US DTR)
* Build a constructive, real time relationship with the UK tax authorities

Forecasting

* Work closely with the business to develop forecasts, both so that tax numbers can be reflected in order for tax payments and dividend flows to be forecasted

Transfer pricing

* Ensure the group's transfer pricing arrangements are appropriate
* Assist the Tax Director with developing and maintaining the group's transfer pricing strategy and policies, including responsibility for the preparation of any intercompany recharges or profit adjustments required
* Ensure the group's transfer pricing arrangements are appropriate and are accurately documented in the group's transfer pricing documentation and intercompany agreements
* Deal with ad hoc transfer pricing queries from the business as they arise
* Work closely with tax team members based overseas to manage cross jurisdiction tax issues, recognise opportunities and ensure global transfer pricing adjustments are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

Tax planning and partnering with the business

* Monitor changes in the tax environment, for example BEPS project and challenges around the patent box, in order to understand their impact on the group
* Develop close links with the business teams to fully understand the business in order to ensure tax advice is commercially aligned
* Business Development and Corporate Development projects (for example in-licensing deals, commercial partnerships, IP acquisitions) - work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to:

* develop projects
* ensure they are structured in a commercial and tax efficient manner
* ensure that tax issues are identified and managed, and tax costs are factored into financial models and decision making

Treasury

* Work with Treasury on dividend and lending strategy

Qualifications and Experience

* Qualified ACA or equivalent
* Experience in IFRS and UKGAAP principles
* International tax experience
