Outsourcing Executive | AAT Qualified | Pursuing ACA/ACCA/CIMA

A client of ours based in Birmingham is looking for an Outsourcing Executive to join their team. They provide clients with the full range of accounting and back office services, including bookkeeping, accounts preparation, management accounting, VAT compliance, forecasting and budgeting and any other ad hoc advice and assistance on accounting matters.

The Role

To assist senior members of the Outsourcing department with client work and ad hoc tasks and also to supervise junior members of the team. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Acting as the first point of contact for the client, ensuring that all communication, whether written or spoken is in a professional manner
• Maintaining good relationship with clients
• Training junior members of the team on accounts software and other processes necessary for the role
• Bookkeeping, including preparing, processing and recording bank transactions, processing purchase, sales and general ledger entries for a wide range of clients, including the groups larger more complex clients
• Preparation of management and statutory accounts, with little supervision which are technically accurate and meet the full UK GAAP requirements
• Preparation of VAT returns and a good understanding of VAT rules so that issues can be spotted and flagged to the manager for attention
• Review monthly management accounts, and VAT returns which have been prepared by more junior members of staff
• Assist with the preparation of budgets, cash flows and forecasts particularly for FSA clients, including ICAAPs and FSA applications
• Prepare year-end audit files for clients with supporting schedules for all balance sheet items and tax sensitive profit and loss items.Dealing with matters arising from the auditors.

Requirements

• AAT qualified and pursuing ACCA/ ACA/CIMA qualification as relevant
• Good VAT and corporate tax knowledge
• Proven experience of statutory and management accounts preparation for UK entities
• Experience of audit file preparation and liaison with audit staff
• Proficient in use of accounting software such as Sage and Access and other relevant packages
• Excellent client interacting and relationship building skills
• Able to influence internal clients / colleagues
• Results orientated

Salary

Between £30,000 and £36,000 dependent on experience and skillset.
