This is a broad tax role in the UK Team of a FTSE 50 business covering UK tax reporting for external reporting purposes, UK corporation tax compliance and partnering with key UK business stakeholders to provide proactive business support.
Job spec:
Assist in the delivery of the UK Team agenda, including:
*Review of UK corporation tax computations
Ensure UK Group's corporate tax compliance requirements are met including assisting team leader in the management of HMRC audit of the UK Group corporate tax returns
*Participating in year-end reporting process
*Delivering value through the implementation of UK domestic planning and assisting team leader in the delivery of ad hoc projects
*Advise business and other Group Tax teams on strategic risk issues, including CFC, DTR, PE and WHT
*Assessing the impact of changes in tax law and accounting principles on Diageo's operations and existing structures.
Functional Skills and Knowledge:
*
Strong technical tax capability on tax legislation applicable to UK operations e.g. capital allowances, loan relationships, CFC & DTR
*Application of tax knowledge to commercial agenda
*Sound judgement regarding acceptable levels of tax risk
*Effective project management and implementation skills
*Awareness of external environment in relation to tax issues
*Strong team working and communication skills
