Indirect tax accountant - In House - London

An opportunity has arisen with a global leader in the commodities trading business who are seeking a Qualified ACCA, ACA, CIMA VAT Accountant to join their team in central London.

This is a permanent opportunity.

As Indirect Tax Accountant,you will primarily be responsible for the indirect tax reporting within the tax team and will also work with the Indirect Tax Manager in relation to the implementation of various tax related projects currently in development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 Work with the Indirect Tax Manager to complete and analyse various International VAT returns and reconciliations to ensure compliance and monitor/explain any variances/fluctuations.

 Ensure the accuracy of Excise and Customs Duty reporting in various Countries.

 Prepare Intrastat returns and EC Sales List in various Countries.

 Provide traders and operators with International VAT and Customs advice concerning transactions/contracts.

 Review trading contracts for accuracy of International VAT and Customs/Excise clauses and identify any such costs the company will incur.

 Interact with other teams where necessary to collate and document the preparation of any information required by the tax team.

 Work with the Indirect Tax Manager in relation to the various indirect tax projects under development and the collection, collation and production of records, documentation and reports needed during the project development and implementation stages.

2-3 Years experience of International VAT reporting concerning the supply of goods
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
 Highly organised with a good attention to detail
 Ability and commitment to providing a flexible and responsive service to the business
