A rare opportunity in this FTSE 100 business for a Part Time Senior Tax Manager role on either 3 days or 4 shorter days per week basis, reporting into the International Tax Director. The role offers a breadth of group tax work across over 20 countries across Europe. With a third of the role focused on managing the outsourced compliance and reporting process and the majority of duties looking at tax advisory and business partnering.
Duties
* Management of the annual tax filing and compliance process for the region alongside the outsourced tax compliance function to ensure accurate and timely filed tax returns. Ensure compliance with tax legislation in all jurisdictions by working with outside tax advisors;
* Oversight of tax audits and contacts with the tax authorities including current Court & Competent Authority cases, as well as an ongoing APA application;
* The identification and monitoring of tax risk for the companies arising out of tax audits and the implementation of procedures to manage and reduce this risk. Assisting finance teams with production of supporting documentation for inter-company charges and other transfer pricing matters;
* The provision of tax advisory support to ad-hoc regional projects, working where necessary with tax advisors on regulation, overall business model design, tax mitigation opportunities and M&A;
* Work with the Treasury team to manage the movement of cash. Control and report tax cash payments, including management of estimated tax payments throughout the year. Ensure tax efficient repatriation of dividends
* The periodic reporting, and explanation of the divisional tax profile, key tax risks, ETR outcomes and cash tax liabilities. Provide oversight and management of the divisional tax accounting and reporting; agreeing with external auditors the overall tax charge, assets and liabilities for reporting to Group for Interim and Year-End;-
* Working closely with the divisional CFO on major tax issues, acting as first point of contact for tax support. Closely integrate with the Finance Leadership Team and wider business to be aware of new business developments requiring tax input;
* Manage the overall transfer pricing policy for the division, ensure completion of the final outstanding aspects of the new policy and centrally co-ordinate the German/US APA;
* Provide general oversight of tax and transfer pricing issues for the division, seeking support from regional tax teams where appropriate and acting as a central senior interface between the tax team and the division.
About You:
* A chartered accountant or chartered tax advisor with extensive experience post-qualification;
* UK and international tax experience;
* Business partnering experience / capabilities;
* Team leadership / project management / people management experience;
* Strong interpersonal & influencing skills;
* Excellent communication skills;
