To be responsible for the quarterly and annual external filing requirements for Tax matters for the Group, and to manage all UK Tax return compliance matters for corporation tax purposes (including overseas branches).

Responsibilities:

* Responsible for the preparation of the quarterly and annual ETR calculations, including all supporting information on current and deferred tax, including but not limited to relevant journal entries, and updates to papers on ASC 740 Uncertain Tax Positions
* Prepare the quarterly and annual tax reporting disclosures under US GAAP and in accordance with the requirements of the SEC.
* Prepare Tax information for inclusion in the CFO Report to the Group Audit Committee
* Liaise with external Auditors on Tax matters for Group Reporting and UK Financial Statements
* Responsible for the preparation and submission of UK Corporation Tax returns on a timely basis using OneSource, together with Payments on Account, management of iXBRL tagging (outsourced)
* Responsible for the preparation and submission of Syndicate returns for Lloyd's reporting
* Responsible for the preparation and submission of Income Tax Statements for UK company Financial Accounts
* Responsible for the preparation of supporting information needed by external advisers for overseas branches corporation tax returns
* Assist with maintaining up to date documentation and key controls on direct tax matters for SAO requirements and SOX controls
* Assist with the preparation of global transfer pricing reports and Diverted Profits Tax
* Assist with FATCA and Common Reporting Standard compliance and reporting
* Provide support on direct tax matters arising on projects.

Experience required:

* Candidates should be ACA or ACCA qualified, 2 years or more PQE
* Strong corporate Tax accounting and statutory reporting experience is essential.
* Candidates must have strong data analysis and data extract capabilities, in particular Advanced Excel skills, use of pivot tables etc.
* Training and support will be given on overseas tax matters as required.
* Full support will be given for on-going CPD for relevant tax matters.
* Strong Tax Accounting and good knowledge experience of Tax Reporting under US GAAP
* Strong attention to detail and clear presentation of data
* Good level of written and spoken communication
* Ability to work under pressure and to meet competing and pressurised deadlines
* Ability to manage deadlines and demonstrate effective time management
* Ability to work as part of a small team
* Flexibility and a 'can do' attitude
* Microsoft packages, Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Software, Database Software. Training will be given on Underwriting systems and data warehouse/reporting as necessary.
