At Grant Thornton we're driven by a purpose of shaping a vibrant economy, based on trust and integrity in markets, dynamic businesses, and communities where businesses and people thrive. By living our purpose and focusing on quality, we strive to be the go-to-firm for growth. We’ve created our own unique culture – one that offers the opportunities of a major organisation in a personal, close-knit environment and that's built around a Challenger Leadership style and a Shared Enterprise model.

Be inspired. Be challenged. Be yourself. Here. You can.

A global spotlight is shining on tax like never before and the landscape is changing. As part of the transparency agenda, tax authorities are asking for more data, in more detail, more often and are sharing that more regularly. Clients’ structures and operating models are ever more complex and change more rapidly but, clients nevertheless have increasing needs for visibility and insight from their data.

We need to make sure we are at the forefront of understanding what this will mean for the tax department of the future so that we can help our clients and ourselves maximise benefits (and minimise risks).

This includes helping to answer questions such as:

How can we use technology to work better with our clients data and provide them with additional value across each of the tax teams?
What opportunities does this give for tax to work closer with Assurance and Consulting?
How can we advise clients on tax data and technology issues – and what are the real problems they need help with?
How will the relationships between clients, tax authorities and advisors such as Grant Thornton change in the future and how can we plan for this?
What’s our broader tax technology strategy to 2020 and beyond?
What are the ‘quick wins’ we should do now, and why?
What are our longer term aspirations?
What do IT advances such as robotics, artificial intelligence and blockchain mean for the world of tax?

We are looking for inquisitive professionals with a keen interest in technology for this position. The role will place you in the centre of helping to define and solve answers to these (and other) questions across Grant Thornton tax in the UK.

Opportunity to be involved with the full development lifecycle:
New idea generation across tax;
Working with tax and IT teams to define requirements in detail;
Identifying best solution/platform or offering;
Building the solution or defining the offering in further detail;
Testing the solution;
Deployment/rollout of the solution and transition to ‘business as usual’.
Taking the solution/offering to market.
As a member of the core team you will be involved in every stage of the above for several initiatives at once - project management skills therefore also key.

Who we're looking for:

Broad understanding of different areas of tax from an operational as well as a technical perspective;
Ability to work well across teams and to build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders;
Possesses an interest in technology;
Process mapping;
Project planning/management;
Solution/offering formulation and the sales process
Flexible, open minded - Happy operating outside traditional ‘comfort zone’.
