Group Tax and Treasury Accountant role in Central London paying up to £60,000 + bonus and benefits.
Your new company
This FTSE business has a really exciting opportunity for a Group Tax Accountant who wants to broaden their remit and take on wider responsibility by including Treasury Operations into their day to day role. With a direct reporting line into the Group Treasurer and working within the wider finance function your responsibilities will include Tax accounting and day to day treasury operations including f/o dealing.
Your new role
As the Group Tax and Treasury Accountant your role will be twofold. From a tax perspective you will take responsibility for Tax Compliance adopting a hands on approach to complete the tax computations. Additionally you will be required to make Effective Tax Rate (ETR) calculations as well as forecasting / deferred tax calculations. You will liaise and work with the external advisers in reviewing the tax computations and thereafter implementing any tax planning outcomes. In addition you will:
* Assist the Group Planning and Reporting Manger with tax related accounting issues as they arise;
* Ensure the timely submission of tax computations and tax calculations for half year and year end statutory accounts;
* Support the Group Treasurer in tax planning activities.
The treasury part of your role will see the individual take responsibility for day to day treasury operations including cash management, FX dealing, interest rate swaps, management of the monthly netting process, and support the treasurer on other ad hoc projects.
What you'll need to succeed
You are likely to be a Big 4 / Top 10 trained accountant (ACA / ACCA) or tax specialist (CTA) currently working in an in-house tax role. You will be willing to take ownership for the tax space as well as having the desire to take on treasury responsibility too. Whilst experience of treasury would be ideal the business is happy to train people up in this area. You will ideally be happy to work towards an accounting or treasury qualification, have strong communication skills and be eager to learn.
What you'll get in return
Opportunity to broaden your skill set enabling the individual longer term to think about a broader commercial FC / FD role.
