Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit, this role will be accountable for delivering internal audit and risk assurance activity for Severn Trent Plc on the mitigation of key business risks. The role is a business partner position, operating across the Severn Trent Group, with particular focus on building strong relationships with all levels of management across Wholesale, Chief Engineer and Group Commercial, as well as building alignment with the Internal Audit team. Managing a team of highly experienced and professional auditors, you will drive a strong business partnering culture through the business, underpinned by healthy challenge and control. This role acts as a key source of advice on risk and control across the business, and acts as a sponsor of embedded control routines, a prompt for the sharing of good practice and a liaison on key projects. This role constantly and consistently improves the control environment.
About You:
With sound commercial and operational audit and advisory experience within relevant process areas within a variety of business environments, the successful candidate will also have experience of effective working at all levels of an organisation. With sound knowledge and experience of Risk Based Internal Auditing techniques you will have strong experience of people management and leadership, alongside a finance background in a large professional services organisation. With a relevant professional qualification, for example CIMA, ACCA, or IIA, you will also have an excellent understanding of the fundamentals of risk and control. Furthermore, a general understanding of the water industry, or utility companies alike, is desirable for this position, alongside excellent IT skills, and good technical knowledge of ERP based business processes.
