Our client is looking to recruit a PAYE and Compliance Manager. Reporting to the Group Head of Tax.
The individual will manage the PAYE Expenses Compliance Assistant and CIS Compliance Assistant, and be responsible for monitoring PAYE and tax compliance in relation to employee expenses processing.
Key Responsibilities:
Functional responsibilities:
* Deliver a full range of CIS services in compliance with laws and regulations within timeframe
* Maintain overall responsibility for the iExpenses Audit and Exception list, ensure this is kept accurate and fully up to date and embedded within the iExpenses software
* Maintain overall responsibility for 24 Month Rule monitoring throughout the wider group* Conduct ad-hoc audits of the FSSC PTP Expenses team’s work on expenses, in line with SAO procedures
* Adherence to Group PAYE and CIS policy and compliance with SAO control procedures
* Review of CIS returns as prepared by the CIS Assistant for authorisation for submission to HMRC (for the FSSC live business units)
* Overall responsibility for driving CIS return submissions and payments in line with deadlines
* Resolving ad-hoc HMRC PAYE and CIS queries i.e. verification issues, subcontractor enquiries
* Review Employment Status of individual suppliers/subcontractors and tax status of labour agencies, to ensure appropriate treatment in the ledgers and feature on the CIS return or treatment as employees
* Review customary reports to check for end-to-end process compliance in transaction processing in relation to CIS
* Responsible for the management of CIS registration and de-registration processes (including liaison with Group VAT Manager and Group Tax team to ensure consistent approach to each new entity registration)
* Build a strong relationship with the Group Tax team, providing analysis and information
Leadership responsibilities:
* Directly responsible for supervising the relevant elements of Tax Process function
* Assists Senior Group Tax Manager with line management responsibilities including performance review and appraisal
Key Skills and Qualifications:
* Expert knowledge in CIS tax and PAYE employment taxes
Knowledge of Oracle and MS Office (strong Excel skills to vlookup and pivot level as a minimum)
* Exceptional client service along with the ability to develop excellent client relationships
* Experience supervising teams, ideally within a service delivery function environment, within a complex business or group
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Strong verbal and oral communication skills
* Collaborative, able to work with and through others as part of a team and to mentor colleagues
