Operational Tax Manager - In House FS role

This household brand Financial Services company is recruiting for an exciting Operational Tax Manager position as a consequence of an expansion in their dynamic Operations team.

The Operational Tax Team is part of Group Tax and is responsible for managing the operational tax risk of the group.

This role involves working as part of that team to provide a comprehensive and proactive Operational Tax compliance and advisory service to the Group's businesses to ensure that they are aware of the risks of non-compliance with HMRC and other tax authority regulations by being a subject matter expert and business partner.

The role would also involve working with regulatory bodies and industry groups to develop and implement regulatory change and to make operational taxes simpler, more efficient and cost effective for the customer.

Other duties will include:

* providing tax advice on the Operational Taxes compliance regime;
* escalating non-compliance risks across the group ensuring senior management are made aware of financial and reputational risks;
* assist the business in identifying risks and implementing assurance checks to ensure controls are operating effectively;
* influence external stakeholders and trade bodies;
analyse and monitor changes in tax legislation and interpretation to identify potential impact on specific areas of the business and ensure that the Group complies with and obtains maximum advantage from such changes.

Key Capabilities:

* excellent technical knowledge of Operational Taxes both in the UK and Europe
* ability to build effective working relationships with both colleagues and external contacts and to take a proactive and constructive approach to business developments and initiatives
* experience in a technical advisory role on large, multi disciplinary projects
* strong organisational and prioritisation skills
* analytical ability to interpret tax legislation and communicate to non tax colleagues
* attention to detail and influence business to deliver compliance
