An amazing opportunity has arisen for a Vice President to play an integral part in the Structured Tax Team for an international financial services leader.

Vice President for the Structured Tax Team:

Key aspects of this business critical role will be structured transactions from early stage/inception through to full development, approvals and execution.

A particular focus on product development, including technical analysis and due diligence on new business opportunities.

Main duties and responsibilities:

* Providing significant support to senior team members in the context of identifying, originating and then executing specific transactions
* A particular focus on technical analysis and due diligence in relation to product development / new business opportunities (e.g. tax, accounting and regulatory capital aspects)
* Responsibility for leading the execution of smaller, less complex transactions
* Taking responsibility in respect of discrete elements of larger, more complex transactions
* Responsibility for coaching and mentoring more junior members of the team as well as ensuring that they are developing a comprehensive skill set to enable career development and career progression
* Preparing/reviewing presentation materials for internal briefings with management, control functions and other stakeholders
* Modelling the economic benefits and cash flows of proposed transactions as well as preparing projected financial statements for entities involved
* Preparing internal approvals papers in respect of proposed transactions
* Interacting with other business units (e.g. trading desks, structuring teams). Liaising with the firm's internal functions to determine the applicable treatment of proposed transactions and to confirm support
* Reviewing and negotiating complex legal documentation; dealing with clients, counter-parties and external lawyers

Risk and Control Objective:

Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Operational Risk Framework and internal Policies and Standards.

Requirements:

* Strong problem solving, analytical and quantitative skills
* Excellent communication skills, both orally and in written form
* Demonstrable ability to articulate complex and inter-connected concepts clearly
* A firm understanding of the components, economics and application of various financial instruments
* Collaborative and able to develop constructive working relationships
* Clear evidence of career progression

Essential:

Excellent educational background from a leading university, preferably with a technical or quantitative component. Formal UK tax technical training at a leading law firm or accounting practice and holding a professional qualification in the UK tax field.

Skills and knowledge:

Knowledge of working in the front office as part of a structuring business. Experience of working at a top-tier financial institution, in the structured finance area, with a focus on transactions with a UK element.
