UK VAT Manager, FTSE brand, London, to £75k + bonus

Work with a household FTSE brand in a pure VAT advisory role, based in central London.

Due to on-going internal demand, our client requires an additional VAT resource with strong technical background in UK VAT. While predominately a UK organisation, the business does also operate overseas. As such the role will involve a mixture of UK and international VAT advisory responsibilities, with with some elements of compliance review. The ideal candidate will have a flexible and proactive approach, comfortable partnering with senior stakeholders throughout the business. Prior in-house experience is helpful, but by no means essential.

The role

* Advise business units on VAT issues, managing tax risk appropriately for all commercial and corporate operations.
* Assist in identifying opportunities for increasing the group's VAT recovery.
* Conduct risk and control analysis for Indirect Tax processes and identify areas where controls can be enhanced.
* Contribute ideas to the VAT/Indirect Tax strategy of the wider group.
* Provide support to the VAT compliance team, reviewing returns where required.
* Conduct PESM calculations and provide support with any related documentation.
* Support internal and external audits, acting as a point of contact for tax authorities and dealing with queries.
* Provide ad hoc support to other tax team members where required.

About you

* Strong stakeholder management skills.
* Prior experience in partial exemptions is preferred.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
