This forward thinking tax team is growing and as tax manager you will be required to support the senior tax team members. This would be ideal for a keen, ambitious person, looking for a variety of work, focused mainly on advisory and projects.

Job Description
To work with all senior tax team members in all areas of direct and indirect tax
1. The role focus will mainly be project and advisory, but there will be opportunity over time to experience a wide variety of tasks within the tax team. Taxes covered will include VAT, corporation tax, employment taxes, SDLT and international tax work
2. Projects may include, for example: due diligence and then integration work on corporate acquisitions, preparing R&D or patent box claims, international projects (for example transfer pricing), property tax project work (key acquisitions and disposals) and overarching governance and controls projects (for example senior accounting officer)
3. Assist the Heads of Tax in their management of tax and relationships with tax authorities, including research and drafting correspondence for them
4. Provide technical support and advice to internal customers (for example finance, HR and legal) on a variety of projects to ensure compliance, minimise tax costs and maximise tax opportunities
5. Most advisory work is undertaken internally by the tax team, but where external advice is sort to support a material transaction or matter, the tax manager work with the advisers, from instruction through to implementation
6. Keep appraised of changes in tax legislation and case law developments. Review HMRC consultations and draft legislation and prepare responses on behalf of the business


Candidate will:
• Be enthusiastic, proactive and have a keen desire to learn
• IT literate – with Excel and Powerpoint skills
• Enjoy problem solving and thinking outside the box
• Have strong research, numerical and analytical skills
• Have good communication skills, to deliver advice in a professional, easy to understand manner
• Have c3 years PQE
• Have an accounting qualification or ATT/CTA
