The UK Tax Team has offices in London, Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester and also works on a "One UK" basis, as a team. We are a close knit group. We support three areas of DLA Piper practice, namely working with our clients and colleagues on international tax projects, working with the lawyers in the UK groups, such as in corporate, IP and real estate on transactional work, and adding value to the Sectors in which the firm operates. This leads to a varied range of business tax work.

Our Transfer Pricing and Economic Services team is a multidisciplinary team of professionals who have experience in some of the most sophisticated areas of international tax and transfer pricing. Members of our Transfer Pricing and Economic Services team are located throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific which makes us well positioned to help companies address their transfer pricing challenges and opportunities, both locally and globally. The team are now looking to recruit a Transfer Pricing Economist in the group’s hub in London. Applicants should have a degree in economics or finance (with advanced degrees preferred) and 2-3 years' transfer pricing experience, gained at an advisory firm or in house. The successful candidate will be highly ambitious and enthusiastic with a desire to progress their own career from the enviable global platform that DLA Piper provides.

They will need to possess excellent technical skills and attention to detail, alongside developed team work, project management and client care abilities.

Key areas of responsibility
- Develop economic, financial, and accounting analyses, including designing and developing financial models tailored the client's economic and financial circumstances
- Prepare transfer pricing documentation reports and planning studies for a wide range of transactions (tangible goods, services, intellectual property, financial transactions, cost sharing)
- Assist with on-going Advance Pricing Arrangements
- Assist with client proposals and with specific transfer pricing marketing initiatives (publications, events etc.)
- Build technical competency by keeping up to date on transfer pricing developments worldwide

Experience and characteristics
- 2+ years’ of experience working in professional services or professional tax organizations, with specific experience in transfer pricing
- Degree in Economics or Finance (advanced degree preferred: Masters or PhD)
- Strong knowledge and understanding of transfer pricing concepts: tangible goods, services, intellectual property, financial transactions, cost sharing
- Strong financial analysis skills and experience with some of the most commonly used databases (LoanConnector, Amadeus, Bloomberg, OneSource)
- Strong technical skills, including assisting project managers in performing functional interviews to identify and assess clients' cross-border intercompany transactions, designing and developing financial models, and writing transfer pricing documentation and planning studies
- Excellent organisational, analytical, and verbal / written communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, professional services environment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under time pressure effectively
- Highly motivated and interested in taking initiative for personal development
