Key specific accountabilities
* Responsibility for UK indirect tax compliance for the company and Group Functions and ensuring that statutory indirect tax returns are completed on time
* Responsibility for the performance and review of VAT accounting and reconciliations, as appropriate
* Responsibility for the VAT forecasting processes
* Provide advice in relation to business transactions ensuring that VAT risk is appropriately managed
Stakeholder management and leadership
* Manage processes involving SVRT and other teams dealing with PCB VAT returns ensuring adequate support in relation to the preparation of VAT returns ensuring that the returns are prepared according to agreed timetables
* Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders in Finance to support the appropriate reporting and forecasting of VAT recoveries
* Provide training to key business areas as required
* Provide adhoc support to other VAT team members where required
Decision making and problem solving
* Provide input and recommendations into systems development, including the development of standardised Indirect Tax platforms and adoption of best practices where appropriate
* Ensure operational effectiveness and continuously improve the integrity of systems and controls
* Perform periodic reviews and updates of key control and process documentation for PCB business
* Assist in developing ideas, providing input and analysis to various VAT savings and mitigation initiatives and support practical implementation
About you
* ACA, CTA or relevant professional (e.g. Tax) qualification.
* Tax experience preferably in a compliance or systems related role
* Excellent business, communication/influencing, relationship/partnership and planning/control skills
* Experience in advising on the tax configuration of financial systems
* Financial Sector Experience
* SAP experience
