Due to business growth, an enviable opportunity exists for an experienced individual to join the rapidly expanding In-house tax department based in Sheffield. Reporting to the Senior Tax Manager for the Asia-Pac region, this role is really broad- ranging and not just responsible for managing compliance and the taxation aspects of year- end accounting for the firm. There is a large emphasis on project based work as well exposure to international tax issues within a large corporate environment. Whilst the role focuses on corporate tax and applying these to an international setting there is also a large element of accounting and therefore we are looking for people with a good base of accounting knowledge who also has a good knowledge of tax. This “experience building role” is an excellent move for an individual looking to move away from professional practice and apply their technical knowledge in a highly commercial In- House setting. Applications are welcomed from individuals who are working in medium tier firms with a breadth of accounts production and tax experience looking for a move to an In-House role.

Key Responsibilities include:

•Maintain control of the day to day tax compliance of the Asia Pacific region
•Calculate year- end tax provisions
•Maintain comprehensive records
•Run and report on projects to resolve tax related issues within the business
•Control permanent establishment risk management systems
•Respond to ad-hoc queries from the business
•Develop relationships with key personnel

The successful candidate will ideally demonstrate:

•A professional accounting qualification ACA / ACCA or CTA ; this role would be ideal for an individual who is recently qualified and looking for their next step. Training support towards CTA would be available.
•A strong knowledge and experience of tax fundamentals across different areas of tax with the ability to apply their knowledge and experience to international practices and legislation. Previous experience in International tax is not essential. It is also likely you will have a strong background in accounts production within your career to date.
•Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, coupled with the ability to influence, negotiate and persuade.
•Be a self-starter, who is able to work on their own initiative as well as being part of team
•Have strong client service orientation and be able to balance a high volume of work and deliver consistently high quality work under pressure.
•A pragmatic and responsive approach with the ability to work within a team and contribute to the development of the firm.

In return the firm offers a supportive and empowering environment with great training and development programmes as well as a competitive salary and benefits package plus relocation package for the right person.
