UK Tax Manager - FTSE 20 - London
My client is a FTSE 20 company looking to hire a UK Tax Manager, based in their London Headquarters. The UK Team is responsible for the UK corporate tax affairs, ensuring compliance with UK tax legislation and UK tax reporting is compliant with external reporting requirements.
Responsibilities:
* UK tax reporting for external reporting purposes, UK corporation tax compliance and partnering with key UK business stakeholders to provide proactive business support
* Ensuring a good relationship with HMRC
* Stakeholder management - including Group Tax teams, Group Legal and Company Secretarial, Financial Performance & Reporting and external advisers & auditors
* Assist team leader in setting and communicating tax risk strategy across the group
* Participating in year-end reporting process
* Delivering value through implementation of ad hoc projects
* Advise business and other Group Tax teams on strategic risk issues, including Transfer Pricing, CFC, DTR, PE and WHT
Background:
* ACA/ CTA Qualified
* Strong technical tax capability on tax legislation applicable to UK operations e.g. capital allowances, loan relationships, CFC & DTR
* Application of tax knowledge to commercial agenda
* Sound judgement regarding acceptable levels of tax risk
* Effective project management and implementation skills
* Awareness of external environment in relation to tax issues
* Generates and sustains great working relationships and networks across the organisation,
* Combines commercial instinct with analytical rigour
