Corporate Tax Manager, Manchester

Our client is a Top 20 accountancy they seek an experienced manager to join their fast-growing and dynamic Manchester office to provide support to the partners by managing the tax compliance affairs of a growing portfolio of clients plus tax planning work arising on those clients. Candidates must have relevant experience and live within travelling distance of Manchester. This role would suit a qualified tax manager (ACA, ICAS, CTA or ACCA) who is interested in dealing with owner managed buisnesses. day to day your role will involve; dealing with the compliance aspects of the tax work, including preparation or review of corporation tax returns and computations, running a portfolio of clients, tax advice to clients and involvement with tax planning and projects. The role provides a variety of work as the corporate client portfolio is varied and includes OMB’s, SME’s and groups.
This position provides a good range of work for someone with a solid tax background wishing to build on his or her experience in a fast growing office that will provide opportunities for progression. The ideal candidate will be pro-active, resilient and driven. They will have recent practical experience in running a corporate tax compliance portfolio, will need relevant strong managerial skills and have a detailed up to date knowledge of taxation issues (relevant to owner-managed businesses and their shareholders).
Experience of organising the delivery of tax work, problem solving and the ability to use their own initiative is essential. In addition, they should possess the confidence and professionalism to establish credibility at all levels, be commercially minded and have a clear perception of client requirements.
Previous experience of using computerised accounts and tax packages is useful. The firm uses Alphatax.
