You'll play a central role within the Accounts Production department, here within Grant Thornton UK LLP. You'll coach and lead a team in the production of financial statements and iXBRL accounts for filing with Companies House and HMRC. You'll be a crucial member of the team, effectively providing a hands on review role that exceeds client expectations and supports senior team members.

What you'll be doing:

you'll oversee all aspects of the financial statements and iXBRL accounts production process
you'll review (and where required, be involved in the preparation of) drafts of financial statements and iXBRL accounts (including any associated reports)
you'll address, discuss and advance conclusion in respect of technical issues identified during the course of preparation of financial statements and iXBRL accounts (including any associated reports)
you'll delegate work to other members of the team, ensuring associates understand their responsibilities and have received appropriate on the job training
you'll motivate and coach team members and provide feedback through regular communication in a timely appraisal whilst being familiar with relevant training and development options
you'll perform people development and performance management duties, to include performance reviews, 1:1 meetings and absence management, while adhering to the firm’s policies and procedures at all times

Education, experience and qualifications:

you'll have Maths and English Language GCSE's or equivalent
you'll hold a professional accounting qualification (ACA, CA, ACCA or equivalent)
you'll have experience of using Microsoft packages, internet and email
you'll have experience of preparing and/or reviewing financial statements including group financial statements for a range of companies on a computerised system
you'll have previous experience of preparing and/or reviewing financial statements prepared in accordance with UK GAAP
