JOB DESCRIPTION
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be responsible for:
Monitoring daily cash and deposits, weekly union payroll and receivables
Performing monthly closing; overseeing quarterly and annual closing activities; working with outside Accountants; and, participating in annual review
Providing financial reports to the Board and Senior Management
Producing work-in-progress reports and overhead assessment reports monthly
Conducting weekly work-in-progress meetings with Project Managers
Overseeing contract administration
Assuring compliance with local regulatory and tax requirements and reporting, including GAAP
Overseeing proper recordkeeping procedures, including retention and destruction
Overseeing banking and bonding reporting requirements
Developing and implements a financial forecasting and planning tools to improve planning results
Implementing and oversees the budgeting process
Assisting the Board in development of new systems to improve profitability
Coordinating internal reporting
Analyzing and reporting financial data for financial and operational performance, including the company's performance against key business metrics
Tracking and safeguarding the company's assets
Overseeing risk management; managing proper accounting controls; overseeing insurance coverage; and, minimizing company’s exposure to liability claims
Assuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements
REQUIRED SKILLS
5+ years of experience in Cash Management, Forecasting and Planning experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance
Previous experience with Corporate / Cost Accounting, Financial Statement Preparation, General Ledger, and Month-end Close
Strong basis in the Construction Accounting discipline
Microsoft Excel proficient (Pivot Tables, etc.)
Effective time and project management experience
Great interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong attention to detail
Highly organized
