Experienced Lawyer / Tax Lawyer / Legal Counsel (M/F) BDO recruiting for clients
Job description:
We are looking for a qualified expert in the UK law / tax law with a strong knowledge of international legal / tax domains, preferably with experience working with UHNWI residing in the UK.
Based in London or Luxembourg, you will report directly to the Family Office’s Managing Director in Luxembourg.
You will work in a team with 3-4 other internal lawyers (based in Russia & Luxembourg) and your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing a range of international legal and tax advice in various domains (financial, tax and civil law) in coordination with our external lawyers / tax lawyers
- Ensuring the legal protection and interests of our Client and his family members
- Developing and implementing a succession planning strategy for the Client
- Legal support/development of existing and future charitable and pro bono
activities of the Client in the UK and rest of the world
- Guidance in the management of litigation issues
- Ensuring that the Family Office is informed on a timely basis of changes of law,
regulations and policies, organizing internal trainings where needed
- Performing research of statuses, protocols, cases and texts with respect to
specific situations and informing of relevant developments
- Liaising with external experts and managing external counsel when required
- Performing annual audits of our Client’s legal and tax structures and presenting
the results and action plans to the Managing Director of the Family Office
- Depending on the client needs, other responsibilities may be assigned
Your profile:
- A university degree in English law / tax law or other EU qualified solicitor/ barrister
- At least 15 years’ experience in law firms specializing in the wealth management/private client areas or in equivalent positions in family offices or similar
- Fluent in English, French is preferred as an additional language and Russian would be considered an asset
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with a strong attention to details
- A positive attitude, personal commitment to the team and understanding the need and the importance of team work
- Flexible with strong organizational skills and able to work under pressure and to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Depending on the business needs, you will have a 'hands on' approach
- Willingness to travel frequently
- Rigorous, open-minded, proactive and dynamic, you are looking for a long term
collaboration
