International Tax/Expatriate Tax Manager – Washington DC

Here at ITS we are working with a forward thinking and progressive boutique Global Financial Services and International Tax firm based in Washington DC. The firm specializes in providing international, expatriate tax and wealth management services to non U.S. citizens with U.S. financial interests and Americans with foreign (non U.S.) financial interests.
To support their expansion plans they currently seek a charismatic International and Expatriate Tax Manager to further assist with their expansion.

Primary responsibilities include:
• Serving as point of contact for key clients and managing client relationships

• Overseeing a book of business, managing project work, and monitoring budgets and profitability

• Reviewing U.S. individual tax returns for U.S. residents, expatriates, and foreign nationals with diverse financial interests

• Reviewing certain entity returns, as needed (e.g., partnerships, corporations, trusts—depending on technical experience)

• Providing guidance to onsite staff in technical, process, and client-relationship matters

• Coordinating with other Engagement Managers to ensure efficient delivery of services

• Providing training and feedback to staff

The successful candidate will possess the following experience and skills:

• CPA or EA (or chartered accountancy with experience in U.S. tax)

• 5 to 10 years of U.S. tax compliance experience with a public accounting firm, with a focus on private client services or high-net-worth individuals

• Technical experience in expatriate taxation, international taxation, and/or U.S. reporting of foreign income, entities, or assets

• Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills

• Experience overseeing project budgets and liaising directly with clients

• Entrepreneurial and career-oriented mindset
