In my experience I have found two common beliefs among expatriate tax professionals. The first; high quality work is only found in Top 6 firms. The second, entrepreneurial environments are only found outside of the top 6 firms. What if I told you there is a department which combines both of these? One in which you will be a major engine driving its success.

There is a department that offers this based in the city office of a highly credible mid-tier firm. This department is led by Big 4 trained partners who are regularly winning work from the big boys. In recent years, this department has seen double digit growth. It is well on its way to becoming a multi-million pound expatriate team. So, if you want to remain another number in the background this role is not for you.

What will your first 12 months look like?

The department specialises in middle markets work across global jurisdictions. When you join, your main task will be to take over management of some of the director’s existing relationships. Once you have built relationships with your clients you will begin taking on some of the new clients the director wins. You then have the opportunity to put into place new processes and test out different ways of working. The director has a strong background in business development. You will have the opportunity to shadow him and learn how to grow business. This is important because as you develop you will be identifying and going after potential opportunities.

The partners favour smaller hierarchies with fewer layers of management.  The open-door, first-name culture gives you a sense of ownership and responsibility within your role.

The rapid growth of the department means it accommodates individuals progressing both rapidly and gradually. What matters is the quality of your work and your desire for the department to succeed. Once at manager level you will enrolled into the management development program.  This is a strong program which all senior staff go through.

I believe that this role suits an individual who has gained experience in large teams and who is ready to put their skills to the test, take on more responsibility and work in an entrepreneurial environment.

If you are one of these select few, why not apply and organise to have a confidential conversation about this opportunity?
