M&A Tax Manager, EY London

EY's Financial Services (FS) Transactions & Treasury (T&T) Tax team provides Fund and Management Company related tax advice throughout the full fund lifecycle. We have a vertically integrated PE tax team covering both fund structuring and investor advice as well as deal diligence and structuring. In particular, our private equity and alternative asset clients include; large FS institutional captives, mid-market managers and niche fund managers.

The FS T&T team is currently looking to recruit a Tax Manager into the Funds team with a focus on private equity and other alternative asset classes.

Job description:

* Your focus will be on the delivery of high quality tax advice to our client base, and provide support to our growth strategy
* You will provide complex UK and international tax advice in respect of a wide variety of tax scenarios, including the structuring of funds, acquisitions and disposals, and carried interest planning
* You will pursue and develop new opportunities both in respect of existing clients and prospective clients
* You will assist in the development of the skills of a specialised team of tax professionals, and contribute to the enhancement of the team spirit

Experience

* Relevant tax experience either within the financial services industry, a Big-4 accounting firm, law firm or similar
* Familiarity with the financial services industry in general and private equity in particular is preferred

* Significant technical tax expertise

* Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to manage client expectations
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Pragmatism and the ability to solve problems creatively
