The Firm
They are an award winning independent team of tax experts who provide comprehensive advice and planning for entrepreneurs, businesses and individuals. They advise on a wide range of UK taxes including: Tax for Entrepreneurs and Corporates; International Tax; Private Client; Tax Investigations; VAT; and Property Tax.
Key responsibilities
* Provide technical support to assist the Partner in delivering tax services to the client and provide on-going tax technical support to meet client requirements as directed.
* Assist with the application of complex, specialist technical advice to provide innovative solutions that add value to the client.
* Be acknowledged as developing and building a particular interest and knowledge in an area of technical expertise.
* Be able to assist with a range of advanced compliance matters, deal with Revenue enquiries and technical correspondence in conjunction with Partners and Directors who will review work.
* Assist the Partner/Director in the management of the team by supervising and coaching other team members ensuring work is accurate and delivered in a timely way to meet deadlines.
* Work in collaboration with the team to communicate and achieve team goals and share knowledge and ideas to develop the team.
* Start to build profile and develop a network of professional contacts outside of the Firm by use of technology and social media
* Assist with Marketing initiatives and build knowledge and awareness of all aspects of the Firm's service to help identify opportunities to cross sell services
* Support business development activity with relevant technical commentary and content working in conjunction with partners and directors. To include taking responsibility for specific business development actions and initiatives as directed.
* Be pro-active and identify opportunities to act on the interpretation of new legislation with a view to winning new work in conjunction with Partners and Directors.
Qualifications and Experience
* Professionally qualified - e.g. ATT/CTA/ACA/ACCA
* Good technical and compliance knowledge and developing an area of expertise with support
* Able to organise and manage time efficiently and effectively, managing conflicting priorities when required as well as understanding fee budget and the importance of managing time on jobs
* Apply knowledge of the firm, services, industry, markets and clients, to spot opportunities for new work and generate fees
* Building a network of contacts
* Manages aspects of projects with Partners and Directors
* Advocates firm's values and engages with the business
* Building marketing, networking and business development skills
* Developing presentation skills
* Effective use of IT including excel, tax packages, outlook etc.
