Indirect Tax Gardener - Manager Position – Birmingham. Big 4.

My firm are looking to invest in a head VAT gardener. They will provide you with all the tools you need to develop your indirect tax allotment into a picturesque landscape.

Basic requirements: a wheelbarrow full of technical brilliance, a shovel full of hard work and a pinch of flair.

They’ll give you the most fertile and sought after soil.

 This firm’s client based is envied by all. It has all the nutrients that you need to enable growth. You could be working on FTSE, AIM listed and equity backed entrepreneurial clients within a diverse range of sectors

Your roses and sweet peas

As head gardener, you will be responsible for the growth and development of team. Some may be delicate flowering plants that will need more attention to allow them to bloom. Some may be tree saplings who you know will shoot up to reach great heights with minimal assistance. You need to support, motivate and train them to ensure that they are developing to their full potential. You will need to delegate work to them, position them in the right place in your garden, and review that work to ensure it meets your impeccably high standards.

Business Development

Here you will have to opportunity to dip your toe in the pond of business development - in fact, the partners here would love it if you started swimming.  The senior members of the team are experts at winning work – perhaps you could argue some of the best in VAT when judging by the kind of clients they bring in. You would be working closely with them to learn the skill and then you will have the skills to exploit gaps in the market when you see them.

Client Relationships

This role consists of primarily advisory work and you will therefore have a great deal of client interaction. This means that your communication skills, both written and verbal, must be excellent. It is also hoped that you will be able to build lasting relationship with the clients that you work with. This will necessarily make both of your jobs a lot easier and could generate repeat business for you or perhaps a referral!
