The Group has progressed to the next stage of development and has ambitious plans for growth. This growth needs to be underpinned by a disciplined control environment, driven by a high performing finance team.

LSL are looking to recruit a Group Tax & Treasury Manager to be based in their offices in Newcastle, where several group and business functions are located. The role will report to the recently appointed Group Financial Controller and is a critical part of the Group Finance team which is located across multi sites in London, York and Newcastle.

The Group Tax & Treasury Manager role is a new role which is being established to encompass both tax and treasury management. There is a clear objective to ensure the Group is fully compliant with UK tax law and to ensure that the correct tax and treasury policies and procedures are established to facilitate this. The role will also be responsible for managing the liquidity of the Group by implementing necessary controls on working capital, good cash management and forecasting.

The key responsibilities of this Group Tax & Treasury Manager role are: -

-Ensure the Group complies with all company tax requirements (VAT, Corporation Tax, employee tax)
-Ensure compliance across the Group with all its obligations under the banking facilities, including financial reporting commitments.
-Production for Group and subsidiary tax computations and ensure these are journalled correctly in group entities
-Preparation of Group tax returns
-Work with the GFC to develop a good working relationship with the HMRC CRM
-Work with the GFC and CFO in ensuring the Group can make the appropriate SAO certifications
-Work across departments to develop effective tax and treasury structures for the Group
-Day to day responsibility for liquidity and cash management, including ownership of the 13 week rolling cash flow process
-Day to day responsibilities for drawdowns and repayments under the Group’s main bank facility
-Implement Treasury policies, procedures and controls to support the business
-Management of internal dividend and intercompany transactions
-Maintain day to day bank relationships with main lenders
-Co-ordinate responses and resolve Treasury queries on behalf of Group companies

The skill and experience required for this Group Tax & Treasury Manager role include:-

-A Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA preferred). An additional Tax qualification would be an advantage.
-Working experience of Treasury or a desire to develop this.
-Ability to build best in class sustainable processes from scratch. You must be a highly organized starter-finisher.
-Pride in high quality – you strive for top quality and accuracy in all aspects of work whilst being able to work at speed when required.
-Strong technical knowledge and skills are required, particularly in Corporate Tax, VAT, accounting and reporting.
