As Tax Manager your key responsibility will be working closely with the Senior Tax Manager in performing the Group's UK tax compliance and reporting activities, focusing on corporation tax and employment tax related activities as well as tax reporting under FRS101 and IFRS. You will also support the tax aspects of the interim and year end reporting as well as the Group's budgeting and business plan forecasts.

Responsibilities

Corporation Tax:

* Take ownership of the timely preparation of UK corporation tax returns (trading, holding and financing companies), from the sourcing of information required through to the presentation of completed tax return and computation (including supporting memos, claims and elections, tax proof, etc.) for review by the Senior Tax Manager.
* As appropriate, allocate aspects of the corporation tax computation preparation to the Group Tax Analyst providing guidance and coaching as required.
* Liaise with local site finance teams to provide corporation tax support when required.
* Prepare group relief surrenders and claims to maximise the benefit of the Group's tax attributes.
* Prepare UK quarterly instalment payment calculations for review by the Senior Tax Manager.

Tax Accounting:

* Prepare tax analyses and disclosures for the Group's externally reported interim and full-year results under IFRS, and for the standalone accounts of the Group's UK subsidiaries under FRS101.
* Support the preparation and review of tax calculations and forecasts, both UK and overseas, for inclusion in the Groups business plan and budgeting processes.
* Review the consolidated forecasts to ensure that the Group's ETR is managed and understood.

UK Employment Taxes:

* Support the preparation of the Group's UK PSAs and P11Ds.
* Support the Group and site HR departments to understand and manage the employment tax consequences of a mobile workforce.
* Liaise with the Group's external employment tax advisors to facilitate the timely provision of data and completion of expat income tax returns.

Other:

* Provide support and / or manage tax projects including Research and Development tax incentive claims, capital allowance analyses, transfer pricing compliance documentation, and compliance with Senior Accounting Officer requirements.
* Provide tax input into accounting technical papers to maximise the use of available tax reliefs.

Experience

* Educated to degree level.
* ATT, CTA or ACCA / ACA qualified and / or with three or four years' relevant tax experience (mainly in the area of UK corporation tax, but some exposure to tax accounting, and employment taxes would be an advantage).
