Working directly with the tax director, you will manage an interesting client portfolio and advance your advisory skills.

This is an independent firm with a client base that consists primarily of SME’s (although they range from sole proprietors to multi-national organisations) with UK and international tax issues. If you come from a private client background, there is a proportion of private client tax incorporated into this role. However, you will be given the support and teaching necessary to equip you with strong corporate tax knowledge.

The tax team is a focal point of this firm as a significant amount of the firms fees are generated by tax. This is a friendly firm with none of the office politics or red tape you may encounter in larger organisations. There is the freedom and support to really make your mark in a firm of this size.

Some aspects of this role:

You will deal with tax consultancy assignments (UK and International) for an SME client base in a number of different sectors (construction, pharma, IT, recruitment).

Given the nature of your client base, you will deal with a wide range of tax issues that include: tax planning for entrepreneurs, transactional tax (acquisitions, disposals, restructuring), international tax, remuneration planning and income tax.

You will focus on furthering and developing the client relationship (a vital part of the role) and making yourself indispensable to the firm’s client base.

This is regarded as a highly responsible and important position for the partners. The tax director is a vital part of the firm’s success and it is important that you have great client handling skills in addition to broad knowledge across the tax spectrum with the ability to apply such skills in a commercial environment.
