Tax Research, Lead Business Analyst, Thomson Reuters, Nottingham

Role Summary:
Working as part of Thomson Reuters’ Tax & Accounting business, you will be responsible for capturing the direct tax compliance business requirements (tax rules, tax return structure, E-filing capability) in relation to our ONESOURCE Direct Tax software. You will manage the user story and testing documentation for these detailed requirements.

Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
Research the tax requirements for new and existing jurisdictions/features: review tax documentation, tax authority websites and other source documents to create clear and succinct change requirement specifications for the tax content development team to follow.
Write test case scenarios that are comprehensive and easy to follow with expected outcomes, supporting change requirement specifications, enabling the software changes to be fully tested and validated.
Monitor and assist the QA team with the execution of test plans when required, ensuring the process aligns to requirements from a tax perspective.
Test new developments in the platform ensuring they meet the business requirements.
Work with external tax content providers to ensure all products meet current legislative requirements.

Key Relationships:
The main interactions of this role will be supporting the Tax Content Development team and the QA team to ensure their accurate understanding of the business requirements.
The role will also involve liaising with other Business Analysts to understand user expectation and behavior for any identified requirement, and maintain consistency in requirements.

Technical /Professional Skills & Competencies:
No prior ONESOURCE Corporate Tax experience is required and training / support will be provided.

Essential Skills:
Experienced tax professional with detailed knowledge of the tax compliance domain.
Knowledge of multiple taxes/countries is an advantage.
An organized and methodical approach to work, especially attention to detail.
Great verbal and written communication skills, a tactful diplomat.
Proven problem solver with demonstrable analytical skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and use own initiative.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
Agile and capable of dealing with stakeholders from different teams and at a senior level.

Desired Skills:
Understanding of tax software systems.
The ability to work virtually with people in different locations both within the UK and globally.
Languages may be an advantage.
Interest in technology and demonstrable knowledge of software systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Education/ Certifications:
Tax and / or Accountancy qualification.
Educated to degree level.
