Senior VAT Manager, Blue-Chip Corporate, to £95k

The company

Our client is a leading blue-chip corporate with a well established Indirect Tax function. They are currently seeking a new regional VAT lead to join the tax leadership team in their central London office. Working across a broad range of commercial operations, this role will focus on a mixture of advisory responsibilities and operational governance projects, requiring a highly technical and flexible individual. Prior experience advising partially exempt businesses will be highly advantageous.

The role

* Advise business units to Indirect Tax issues, ensuring tax risk is managed appropriately for all transactions.
* Provide expertise to business units regarding VAT issues, including training.
* Contribute ideas to the VAT/Indirect Tax strategy of the wider group.
* Review business unit and group level VAT returns.
* Identify and implement VAT process/system improvements where possible.
* Provide ad hoc support to other tax team members where required

About you

In order to succeed in this challenging role, it is expected that you will have:

* Prior people management experience is preferred.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
