The Company
Our client is a leading FTSE100 hospitality firm based in Bedfordshire. Due to on going internal demand, an additional resource is required with specialist VAT skills to cover their UK operations. The role will involve a mixture of advisory, compliance and project based responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a flexible and proactive approach, comfortable partnering with senior stakeholders throughout the business.
The role
* Management of UK and Group VAT compliance, ensuring preparation and timely submission of relevant returns.
* Advise business units on VAT issues, managing tax risk appropriately for all commercial and corporate operations.
* Assist in identifying opportunities for increasing the group's VAT recovery.
* Conduct risk and control analysis for indirect tax processes and identify areas where controls can be enhanced.
* Contribute ideas to the VAT/Indirect Tax strategy of the wider group.
* Support internal and external audits.
* Act as a point of contact for tax authorities, dealing with queries.
* Provide ad hoc support to other tax team members where required.
