A FTSE 100 business currently have an exciting fixed term contract opportunity in their Exploration & Production team for a Tax Advisor to cover a period of maternity leave.
Reporting into the E&P Tax Manager you will be taking a lead role in tax compliance and reporting with a specialist focus on UKCS E&P taxation including PRT. Additionally you will be working with the wider finance team to support tax forecasting and working with the wider business providing ad hoc tax support to projects
Job spec
* Provide tax assurance on monthly financial reporting and on group forecasting for UKCS Exploration and Production (E&P) companies
* Support production of UK IFRS financial statements for UKCS E&P companies by tax note preparation/review including interaction with external auditors
* Prepare PRT and CT/SCT returns for E&P companies operating in the UKCS
* Developing processes to support improved tax compliance for PRT
* Support wider tax team with HMRC enquiries/audit including interaction with HMRC
* Providing tax support to ongoing business and Business Development (ad hoc)
Candidate profile
* An accounting/tax background and (ideally) some experience of upstream taxes
* A good working knowledge of UKCT is essential. Some experience of PRT and PRT return preparation would be preferred
* Recent experience of CT/SCT return preparation
* Proven ability to manage workflows and work both on their own initiative and within a wider team
